2008 ADBI Awards for Journalists Reporting on Development

The Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI)  is again sponsoring the Developing Asia Journalism Awards (DAJA) to acknowledge Asian and Pacific print journalists who cover development trends and the impact these have on the countries and people of the region.

The focus this year is on excellence in journalistic reporting in four strategic areas of development.

Awards will be based on a journalist's works (published and non-published including those in translation) during 2007-08. The best 25 submitted articles will be selected by a distinguished jury of practicing journalists and their authors will be invited to a four-day training and awards program in Tokyo in November 2008. Winners in the following categories and prizes will be selected from these 25 articles and awards will be given at the conclusion of the program.

The Developing Asia Journalism Award categories are as follows: governance, regional integration, infrastructure, and environment.

Closing date for entries is Aug 22, 2008, 6 p.m., Tokyo time. For more information, visit http://cambodiajobs.blogspot.com/2008/07/2008-adbi-awards-for-journalists.html. Interested applicants may register online at http://www.adbi.org/news/2008/07/09/2631.entries.open.2008.daja.awards/.
